Mystery Typeface

Tuesday, 8 July 2008

Anyone know what this delightful typeface is? I saw it uncredited on ilovetypography and it's perfect for the next project I have in mind. I'd redraw it anyway but I'd like a larger source image to refer to.

Edit to add: Seems it was sourced from an old - and presumably rare - type annual, but there's a bigger version here, which will do nicely for now. Thanks Frederik and Amanda for the help.

I love this typeface too! I don't know what it's called, unfortunately, but there's a big picture of it here which you might find useful: http://typografism.se/wp-content/uploads/orne1.png

I should imagine that it's more than one typeface. For something similar see Madame.
I'll look into it.

I was wrong, it's actually from Frederick Lamberts ’Letterforms’. It has loads of beautiful alphabets.

Try 'what the font', just Google it and you'll find the forum. They should be able to help you.
