I suppose that I can finally 'announce' that I'm moving jobs. After 2 and a half brilliant years at Collective I'm moving to Poke London. I'm very excited to be moving to such a well-regarded and exciting agency - their recent work includes Balloonacy and The Never-ending Webpage for Orange, and Topshop's e-commerce site. I had the pleasure of meeting lot of my new colleagues at a bowling game last night, including 'Mr Lomo' Marc who created this awesome rainbow wall of lomos at Poke's Shoreditch office. For once I'm excited about Monday!
Little White Lies

Little White Lies is my favourite film magazine. As well as being well-written - knowledgable and witty - it's stunningly designed by Shoreditch agency Church of London. Each issue is art directed according to the film they're focusing on, with a heavy illustration-based slant which I really appreciate. Most of the work is done in-house I think so they're clearly full of talent over there.
Here are some of my favourite recent spreads - if you're into film, you can probably guess the featured films (check Church's site to see if you're right).

Milly gave me an email asking me to recommend some fashion-inspired art for her 'new abode'. Here's a few old favourites from my bookmarks.
Kelly Smith creates dreamy pencil-and-watercolour art inspired by the catwalk. You can get this lovely Nina Ricci print from her Etsy shop.
As well as drawing cute chubby birds, Kate of Little Doodles also has more than a passing interest in fashion. Her intricately detailed jewel-coloured watercolours are just gorgeous. Sadly I don't think she's selling them just yet, however Kate does take requests!
Kris Atomic's gouache-painted girly characters ooze charm and style. Pick up this 'Black and Gold' print (inspired by Fred Flare clothing) from her Etsy shop.
If you fancy stretching the budget, how about a David Downton print - famous for his work for Vogue (and M&S). If your budget won't stretch to this £300 print, why not pick up the book 100 Years of Fashion Illustration which he illustrated the cover of.
Hope that helped, Milly. If you have an art/design/fashion-related question you'd like me to research and answer on the blog, drop me an email.

I love how random web-hopping often leads to lovely things. I was having a listen to my new favourite band Fanfarlo (playing London tomorrow, I shall be there) when I saw a comment on their page, which led me to the Behance page of Meyoko. Seriously gorgeous intricate linework illustration; I could stare at it for hours.
Pantone posters

Spotted these Pantone posters on notcot. The only thing stopping me from buying the grey one is I'm not sure how it'd look in a room - a full spectrum of them would be great for a design studio though.
Christoph Niemann

I found Christoph's lovely - and prolific - illustration portfolio today. His work spans from high-profile New Yorker covers to sweet childrens' books (pictured above, his latest book My Pet Dragon). I especially like his confessions and tips & tricks of the illustrator.
New Obey print - Japanese patterns

There's been rather a lot of sensationalist press about Shepard Fairey - aka Obey Giant - lately, so it's nice to see him back on form with these lovely new art prints. I've always been a fan of his intricate pattern work (we already own Yen Pattern) so these may be the latest addition to our walls.
They go up for sale sometime on Friday from obeygiant.com.
Snow

Sorry for the lack of updates this week - I moved house at the weekend and we still have no internet at home. (I'm also in the process of moving jobs, but more on that later.)
I could make like the rest of the UK and try to blame the weather? Maybe not. But have some belated photos of Angel in the snow.
