In case you read in a reader, just thought I’d point out that the blog’s layout has changed. It now looks like this:
First thing is the sidebar and main content flipped sides; I think it reads better (to the extent that I’d visit my old design and find it looked really wrong!). The main area has expanded so I can fit nice big 640px images into entries. I also cleaned up the dateline and comment/category links because people were sometimes clicking the wrong entry’s comment link.
I hope you like the little illustration in the header; it kind of sums up everything I’m into at the moment, and hence what I write about here. It’s a bit surprising that there’s no pink at all – I went for a bit of a retro look with shields, swags and a diamond background pattern. I’m particularly proud of the little overhanging flags on the sidebar titles – took hours of CSS hackery to get right!

Maybe it's an idea to write the date, # comments, post category beneath the title so it's a little more clear that it belongs tho that specific post (as most blogs have it beneath the post and I almost commented on the wrong post just now haha)
Also not all of the links in the right (craft, design, art) seem to work (maybe mapped wrong?)
I LOVE the re-design. The colour scheme, the illustration (cat!) – all of it! I've been waiting all day to see this haha

I liked the previous design a lot, but this is perhaps even prettier, with just a dash of St Trinians jolly hockey sticks!

wow – it looks great! well done, I impressed how you battle with blogger.. I never got it and just stuck with wordpress.
Improvements look good! The "Illustration" item in the ribbon still doesn't seem to link on the left side of the text (Safari on Mac) but the others work better now yes! One small thing I just noticed with the second glance, would be to maybe add a little margin on the top of the whole page so the shield doesn't "touch" the viewport's top.
But other than that I love it, I especially love the shield / family weapon! Nice and big and containing all your favorite things. Well done!

Katie, it looks absolutely lovely!!! I love the cats. :-) Those banners are amazing and I can only imagine the CSS wizardry you endured to make them possible. Kudos! Also, you inspired me to finally put my sidebar on the left hand side of the page. :-)

Nice update. I must admit I was a fan of the older version and recently came back for some inspiration from it, but the new one is equally beautiful.
