It’s London Restaurant Festival week: how very, very exciting! It’s basically a big love-in for eating out in London, with restaurants hosting special Festival menus (often at very reasonable prices for 2 or 3 courses) and other markets and events going on.
There’s a food market in Spitalfields every day until Sunday (excluding Thursday). There are lots of stalls selling everything from hog roast to elderflower cordial, with a special focus on Mexican (hurrah!) and Malaysian food. Plus Caravan have a stall there – perhaps the best coffee in London. Once again I’m very glad to be working just up the road from Spitalfields.
The festival is a great chance to visit a restaurant you might otherwise not have found or been able to afford. We’ve eating at Lupita later in the week – one of the few Mexican restaurants in the city we haven’t tried yet – and there’s a dozen others I’d love to try too!
The Festival runs all week until Sunday. Check out participating restaurants and other events going on here.
