I think We Feast is one of the best street foody eat-ups I’ve been to in a while! It had all the great vibes of the food truck meetup we went to in San Francisco, with bonus Christmassy touches that made it feel lovely and festive.
Firstly, it was in a perfect venue – a wonderful semi-derelict old Victorian sorting office in Islington, decked out with cool huge globe lights and twinkly fairy lights.
Organisation-wise it was spot on, not too crowded or queue-heavy with plenty of seating and a big bar. I had a delicious lemongrass Dark and Stormy.
Great live music added to the festive vibes.
And of course the food, with stalls from all of London’s current best and brightest…
I started with Anna Mae’s mac & cheese, levelled up with jalapenos and sour cream…
Then went for a delicious mushroom, walnut and miso Yum Bun
Sweet treats from Meringue Girls, almost to pretty to eat
Pakoras from Delhi Grill
And the rest… The only slight downside was that a fair proportion of the stalls didn’t have a veggie option so I didn’t get to sample Rainbo’s gzoyas, Tonkotsu’s ramen, Mishkin’s, or a Lucky Chip (veggie)burger. But I think I did pretty OK anyway.
Looking forward to the next one already!

thanks for reviewing this. Makes us feel homesick spending xmas in India out of London this year. Yes, it’s a shame there is such a tried for the uber-meaty street-food at the moment leaving, on some occasions, us game veggies completely high and dry ; )
I love food markets like these but I know what you’re saying about a lack of veggie options at these events. Luckily the Glasgow one has a Greek stall (my fav cuisine!) that is purely vegetarian and has vegan options.
I find it amazing that some stalls didn’t have veggie options! The meringues look amazing.
It’s kind of understandable, because they can only serve one or two of their dishes at these events so naturally choose the most popular (meaty) things. But still annoying!
The meringues were really good, all chewy how I like them! Yummm.
We went on Saturday afternoon, I loved it so much. I live in Stoke and you can’t find anything more than a burger or oatcake van here so it was wonderful to try great street food. I was sad to leave but I couldn’t fit any more food in my stomach!
I went to this market lastnight, every stall put so much effort into presentation and looked fantastic – it’s events like these that remind me why I love living in London. The food was epic but agree that there was limited choice for vegetarians. x

This looks amazing. I’m going to have to keep an eye on the website for when I come to the UK
