Greeting cards

Camera card

Queen of Hearts card

A couple of greeting cards now for sale on my Etsy store. I had fun experimenting with 'fake' letterpress using my metal type - it worked quite successfully with a regular ink stamp pad. The effect is quite 'rustic' but I like it that way.

Make London

I've only recently become aware of The Make Lounge - they run craft workshops in the capital as well as supporting local craft fairs and other events like Urban Knitting. I'm looking forward to going to the We Make London craft fair in Covent Garden on Sunday, which will mostly feature sellers from Etsy. All great stuff, just makes me wish I had more time to concentrate on crafts! Check out their blog for upcoming events.

P.S. Mostly for my reference, to-do list for the near future:
- Re-do my craft site
- Get new prints ready (got new printer today, squee!) and up on the store
- Re-do portfolio
- Threadless ♥ lomography t-shirt design

I've been ffffound!

I was wondering this morning how my new cameras drawing managed to get so many hits and favourites added on Flickr overnight, until I realised it made the front page of FFFFOUND today!

There's a little ambition ticked off the list :) Just ordered the prints for this and my other new drawings, so they will be for sale on etsy soon! There are a couple of brand new treats coming too..

p.s. don't suppose anyone has a ffffound invite they want to send me..?

New drawings

I've been busy lately getting some new drawings ready to print for my etsy shop. None of these are quite finished but I thought I'd share the works in progress.

I'm really happy with this series - the idea is modern playing cards, which I think I'll print as greeting cards.

my cameras

Following on from my popular teacups print I've drawn some more of my favourite 'collections' - my shoes and cameras. i'm also working on an idea for the Threadless loves Lomography competition.

Favourite online shops

As I gear up to launching my first few prints on my own etsy shop, I thought I'd share some of my recent favourite online shop finds, and some of my favourite etsy sellers.

1. Poketo
Poketo is a little boutique with a cute selection of prints, homewares, and t-shirts.

2. Pintuck
A newly-opened shop of adorable tea towels and other textile items.

3. Nineteenseventythree
Wrapping paper that's far too nice to give away - I'd use the designs by artists such as Catalina Estrada and The Good Life as wallpaper or a poster.

4. Design by Humans
Super-stylish user-designed t-shirts, like Threadless's cooler older brother.

5. Harmonie Interieure
Delightful interior decor bits and pieces from the man behind Graphic Exchange - I must order some wall stickers.

1. Timberps @ Etsy
Wonderful old-timey illustrations on American Apparel tees. I love their colour palettes, and am about to make my first purchase.

2. Linotte @ Etsy
One of my favourite illustrators, Anke, sells her prints, original paintings, and badges.

3. Sumomosuki @ Etsy
Lovely handmade and reconstructed vintage clothing

4. Claire Mojher @ Etsy
Another great illustrator who sells darling little original drawings

5. Pretty Raccoon @ Etsy
I've been following Andrea's lovely silkscreened tops for ages and finally bought my first -- and I love it!

Indian doll

indian doll

Meet Atasi, my little Indian doll. (Each doll has a name and a little story behind her; Atasi means 'blue flower'). I'm finally happy with all of the first series; another test print has been sent off so I should be on track for launching the shop mid-April. I've also tidied up a few of my old drawings for printing, too. Exciting!

Preview: First doll

japan doll

My first doll drawing is all finished, I'm really happy with it! It's gone off for a test print and if I'm happy with the quality, I'll have a nice series ready to go on etsy very soon.
